...With the ongoing economic recession, a state budget deficit and the removal of the former governor in a firestorm of scandal, it is clear that these have been difficult times. Nevertheless, we have made progress on several fronts, including efforts to create jobs, protect families from criminals and reform government. Despite these successes, there are still many issues that we need to address. My commitment to you is that I will always stand up for the Southland and for my constituents.
